Christian Lacroix for Target…maybe
Christian Lacroix’s new designer, Sacha Walckhoff, who now heads the label without Lacroix, is trying to his best to pull the company out of debt, modernize it a bit and introduce it to a broader base…enter Target. Lacroix’s passion may have been couture, but that won’t sustain a label nowadays. I totally hope they do this, its one thing to love and admire a line but to actually afford it, that will set them apart. My favorite Lacroix piece has to be the Spanish-style gown with an elaborate ruffled train, wedding dress he did for Christina Aguilera. The beading on the bodice along with the touch of red and the train is a dream. I’ve never said “I want this dress as a wedding gown” until I saw this one. Loves it.
